Features & Capabilities

Hushed provides private, temporary second phone numbers for calling, texting, voicemail, call forwarding and more — without swapping SIMs or signing long contracts. Choose numbers across 300+ US, Canada and UK area codes, make VoIP calls, send texts, and manage voicemail from the app. Hushed keeps caller ID showing the Hushed number (never your name), includes free voicemail, call routing and auto-reply texts, and supports quick deletion of disposable numbers when you’re done.

Ideal for online dating, selling items, travel, account verification, avoiding spam, or separating work and personal life. Flexible 1- and 3-line plans with unlimited calling/texting and a discount on annual billing. Note: Hushed is not appropriate for 911/emergency services. 24/7 support available via live chat and email.

User Reviews

Overall, users praise the app for privacy-focused numbers and ease of use, with some highlighting strong customer service and a lasting lifetime deal. However, multiple reviews flag recurring issues: VPN incompatibility, upfront paid usage, unreliable calls/texts, unexpected fees, and account/refund problems. A minority report scams or unresponsive support. Reliability and pricing controversy limit trust for many users, even as it works for some in certain situations.

Pros

  • Discreet, secure privacy-focused number with texting.
  • Simple, easy-to-use app that gets the job done.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Lifetime deal / economical pricing with ongoing validity.
  • Works as described and issues get fixed when reported.

Cons

  • Cannot use the app with VPN (VPN restriction).
  • Not free; upfront payment required and no free option.
  • Calls/texts don't work reliably; occasional outages and overall unreliability.
  • Pricing concerns include exchange-rate markups and fees for receiving calls.
  • Account access issues (login/password problems), suspensions, and refunds.

Does not work for 2FA. It was not made obvious that this could happen. Waste of time and money.
