User Reviews

Users praise White Screen for its extreme simplicity: a pure white screen with no menus or ads, making it a reliable lightweight lighting aid. It’s frequently used for tracing, drawing, and backlighting tasks, and many appreciate the swipe-to-brightness feature. However, updates that alter or remove the brightness swipe have caused frustration, as some users rely on that control. Overall the app is seen as dependable, fast, and unobtrusive, with brightness control and UI changes being the main points of discussion.

Pros

Ultra-minimal UI with no menus—just a white screen.
Ad-free and clutter-free experience.
Provides soft white light, a gentler alternative to the camera flash.
Useful for tracing, drawing, and backlighting tasks (e.g., screen protector alignment).
Swipe-to-brightness feature allows adjusting brightness by swiping (widely referenced).

Cons

Brightness control behavior can be inconsistent across updates (added, changed, or removed in different versions), causing frustration.

My old phone had this type of app as standard, no fuss no hassle, this is nearly as good, just missing the colour and brightness adjustment but for free and no adds it's perfect for seeing where you are going without disturbing others in the house or campsite 👍🏻
