Console Home Launcher

Console Home is a launcher built for Android gaming handhelds. It replaces the
standard home screen with a layout designed to be driven entirely by a D-pad and
face buttons, so you can move through your library, open a game, and jump back out
without ever reaching for the touchscreen.

The idea is simple: your device already holds hundreds of games across dozens of
systems. Console Home organizes them into something that looks and feels like a
console dashboard, with box art, platform shelves, and a quick-access dock for the
things you open most.

This is the first public beta (0.0.7). The core experience is in place and stable
for daily use, and we are actively adding to it. Feedback from early users shapes
what comes next.


WHAT IT DOES

Organize your library by platform
Point Console Home at the folders where your games live and it scans them into a
tidy, per-platform library. It keeps the list current as you add or remove files,
and shows you what changed after each scan.

Rich artwork and game details
Console Home enriches your library with box art, descriptions, and ratings fetched
from ScreenScraper.fr, a community game database. It works out of the box, and you
can connect your own ScreenScraper account for faster downloads. Each game gets an
info panel with developer, publisher, release date, genre, player count, and rating.

Launch straight into your emulator
Games hand off to RetroArch with the right core, and you can override the emulator
on a per-game basis or let Console Home choose automatically. It will let you know
if a game needs a core you have not installed yet.

A home screen you can shape
Arrange your library into tabs and collections, pin favourites to a dock, and choose
how each shelf is laid out — grids, carousels, or text lists. A side rack keeps your
platforms one press away. Names, icons, and ordering are all yours to change.

Built for a controller
Every screen is navigable with a gamepad. A legend bar along the bottom always shows
you which button does what, with optional haptic and audio feedback so actions feel
responsive.

Find anything fast
A single search covers your games, your installed apps, and even Android system
settings like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Display — so common tasks are a few button
presses away.

Useful extras
Built-in touchscreen and controller testers, a log viewer for troubleshooting, and
support for 13 languages.


FREE AND PRO

Console Home is free to use. The free tier includes your full library, artwork,
emulator launching, search, custom tabs, and the standard layouts and themes.

Console Home Pro unlocks the finishing touches: unlimited dock items and custom
tabs, premium layouts such as Compact Cards, Cinematic, and 3D Shelf, custom colour
palettes, the full wallpaper catalogue, the hand-crafted Modern platform icon set,
dock auto-hide, and deeper styling for the tab bar, rack, and dock. Pro is available
as a one-time purchase or an annual subscription, and a trial is offered so you can
try it before deciding.


A NOTE ON THIS BETA

Some features are still on the way, including additional metadata sources
(SteamGridDB and IGDB). You may run into rough edges — if you do, there are links
inside the app to reach us on Discord, file an issue on GitHub, or send feedback by
email. We read all of it.

Console Home does not include any games or ROMs. It is a launcher that organizes and
launches content you already own.
