Old phones make great security cameras, but battery drain and overheating are common problems. Proximity Share solves this with a hybrid algorithm:

• Motion detection standby — Monitors a tiny grayscale thumbnail (80x60 pixels) to detect movement. When nothing moves, the camera sleeps and saves power.
• Differential transfer — When motion is detected, only the changed region of the frame is compressed and sent, not the full image.
• Stealth mode — After a short countdown, the screen turns off completely while the camera keeps running.
