Hexasweeper: Hex Minesweeper

Minesweeper, rebuilt on a hexagon, and then rebuilt again by changing the rules.

On a hex grid every cell has six neighbours instead of eight, and the tight clusters that squares never produce show up everywhere. Old instincts stop working almost immediately. That is the point.

THE RULES ARE THE GAME
Each rule changes what a number means, so the same board demands a different kind of reasoning:

• Classic: numbers count neighbours. Nothing else.
• Triad: every trio of hexagons that all touch each other holds at least one mine.
• Triplet: no three mines in a row, along any of the three directions.
• Balance: every line in one direction holds the same number of mines.
• Connected: all the mines form one connected group; every mine touches another.
• Star: a number counts along the three lines through it, two hexagons each way.

Each comes with its own opening, its own hint, and its own way of being solved. Learning one does not hand you the next.
