How the Rescue System Works – Important: For privacy and phone security, HelpMemory does NOT run in the background or track location automatically.
The rescue system works only when:
• The HelpMemory app is open on the user's phone.
• The user moves more than 500 meters from their registered home location.
When both conditions are met, the app displays the emergency page. One tap will instantly share the user's precise location with family and open Google Maps to guide them home. If the app is closed, the rescue function will not work.
Example Scenario: Imagine your elderly parent gets lost and feels disoriented. They may not know where they are, but if they open the HelpMemory app, the emergency page will appear. With one tap on the SOS button, their exact GPS location is sent to the family, and Google Maps opens to guide them safely back home.
