User Reviews

Thrive: Mental Wellbeing offers a rich variety of effective mental health tools like CBT, meditation, and relaxation techniques praised by many users. However, multiple performance and usability issues such as slow loading, app glitches preventing course progress, confusing UI elements, and a complicated sign-in process detract from the experience. Despite frustrations with bugs and technical problems, the app is still valued for its helpful content and positive impact on users' mental health.
Pros
  • Includes a variety of helpful mental wellbeing techniques beyond just CBT, such as meditation, deep breathing, muscle relaxation, and wise words.
  • Content is clear, manageable, and effective; many users found it useful for mood monitoring, goals, and reinforcing therapy.
  • The app provides guided sessions at a comfortable pace, helping users actively work on mental health and relaxation.
  • Offers access to therapist chat and a range of relaxation and meditation activities.
  • Users appreciate the app's calming voice and overall helpfulness in mental health improvement over extended use.
Cons
  • The app experiences significant bugs and glitches, especially with the Mood Meter feature and course progression unlocking, hindering CBT practice.
  • Performance issues including slow load times, lag, and overheating phones that drain battery rapidly frustrate users.
  • User interface problems such as broken back button functionality, unclear countdown timers, lack of night mode, small text, and confusing navigation affect usability.
  • The sign-in and registration process is complicated, requiring users to obtain access codes not clearly explained during sign-up, plus lack of biometric login options.
  • Live chat feature often crashes or lags, creating a poor experience for users seeking immediate support.
Recent reviews
22.8.23 Update, all of the relax, meditations and similar reduce my blood pressure from top of normal to normal. Done all of the wise words, any new ones coming? Still recommended. Previous: Have done the CBT, deep breathing and muscle relaxations. Added: this is not just a CBT app. It includes all sorts of helpful techniques, spoken in a very reassuring, gentle voice. If you got negative about this app I think maybe the meditation section may help. ☺

Apparently 'CBT' is tapping some weirdly moving circles and if you get it right you 'win'... Some points. What the points are for... Who knows? Who cares? The registration process was a wretch - why it couldn't just use the credentials the health app that directed me to thrive... No idea. Copying codes from authenticator to app... Unnecessarily complicated. Why no finger print? No idea. No night mode - no, no one enjoys looking at white screens in the dead of night. Disappointed.
