TFT-TFS

The Tobacco Free Teachers-Tobacco Free Society (TFT-TFS) Smartphone Training was
developed by the Healis Sekhsaria Institute of Public Health, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and
Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. This smartphone application was funded in part by
the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health, Division of Cancer Control &
Population Sciences (DCCPS), Grant Number: 1R01CA248910-01A1.
Tobacco Free Teachers-Tobacco Free Society is an evidence-based tobacco-use cessation
program proven to help (1) schools become tobacco-free; (2) teachers quit tobacco use; and (3)
provide ALL teachers with knowledge and skills to help others quit. The program engages
tobacco users and non-users around six themes designed to resonate with teachers’ personal
experiences; and centers teachers as role models for their schools and broader communities.
HEALIS SEKHSARIA INSTITUTE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH
Healis is a non-profit research organization that aims to advance public health in India by
undertaking timely high quality population-based epidemiological research and capacity
building. Since its inception in 2004, the organization is committed to improving public health in
India by addressing important public health questions and facilitating the translation of research
findings into policies/programs at the national level.
