■ THE QIBLA, CALCULATED CORRECTLY

The direction follows the great circle route: the shortest actual path on the Earth's surface, not a straight line drawn on a flat map. From Europe or North America, the difference between the two can reach several tens of degrees. Many apps get this point wrong.

The compass indicates your device's magnetic north. A gentle vibration confirms alignment as soon as you're facing the Qibla, so you don't have to stare at the screen.

On a device without a magnetometer, the app accurately switches to displaying the heading in degrees rather than a fixed needle that would give a false direction.

■ PRAYER TIMES

Fajr, Shuruq, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha, calculated from the sun's position for your exact location. No network requests, so no incorrect times due to server downtime.

Four calculation methods to choose from: ISNA, Muslim World League, Umm al-Qura, and Egypt. If your mosque's prayer times differ by a few minutes, change the method rather than assuming an error.

The high latitude rule is applied: essential north of Paris in summer, where twilight never truly ends.

The current date in the Islamic calendar, the twelve months in French and Arabic, and the estimated number of days until Ramadan.

The 99 names of Allah in Arabic, with transliteration and meaning in French, and a search function that accepts all three forms.
