What Was Said is a rolling-buffer audio recorder built for one purpose: capturing audio you didn’t know you needed until it was almost too late.

Set your buffer window — 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, or more — and tap Record. The app continuously listens in the background. When something worth keeping happens, tap Stop. Only the last N seconds are saved. Everything before that is silently discarded.

How It Works

Unlike a standard recorder that saves everything from the moment you press record, What Was Said works like a dashcam for audio. It constantly keeps a rolling window of the most recent sound. When you stop recording, the app saves exactly the recent slice you wanted — nothing more.
