User Reviews

Users praise the plugin for restoring Android smileys after Google's update and aiding readability. However, recurring issues include update/install errors (unknown error 24), stability problems like crashes and MMS failures on some devices, display/compatibility problems with emoticons, and UI annoyances such as ads. Many report reinstalling the plugin as a workaround, but reliability remains a major concern.

Pros

Restores Android smileys/emoticons that Google removed, keeping the emoji set available in Handcent.
Helpful for users with reading difficulties, improving readability and texting.
Generally positive when it works, with reviews like "Great app" and "This is great."

Cons

Frequent update/install failures with unknown error code 24 (install/update errors).
Stability issues like crashes and MMS failures on some devices after Lollipop updates (e.g., Droid Turbo).
Display/compatibility problems on certain devices (missing icons, random squares, can't display full list, limitations in pop-up window).
UI annoyances: back key no longer closes the app and ads appear in the messages window.
Reliability concerns requiring reinstalling the plugin as a workaround.

Recent reviews

I have to keep reinstalling this plug in because I can tap a smiley and nothing happens.
