Halal Screen Guard is a privacy-first modesty filter that runs entirely on your phone. It quietly watches your screen and applies a soft blur over content that does not match the standards you set — without sending a single pixel anywhere.

WHAT IT DOES
• Scans the screen on-device using compact, efficient machine-learning models.
• Blurs only the regions that match the categories you choose.
• Works across nearly every app: social feeds, web browsers, gallery, chat, news, productivity. The veil follows you between apps.

PICK WHAT TO HIDE
Choose one or more categories on the "What to Hide" screen:
• Women.
• Men.
• Adult & NSFW content.
• Content not appropriate below age 13 (alcohol, smoking, fight scenes, suggestive imagery, etc.).

TWO SCAN MODES
• Browsing — recommended for everyday phone use. Reads static and scrolling feeds, news, articles, gallery. Stays still when the screen is still — gentle on battery.
• Video — designed for movies and trailers. Applies a whole-screen veil while a flagged scene is on, so fast cuts don't slip past.

ADJUST THE VEIL
• Veil strength — from a soft hint to a fully opaque cover.
• Watchfulness — how often the filter checks the screen, from Calm to Alert. Older phones can dial this toward Calm to reduce CPU use.
• Quiet the audio — optionally lower media volume to zero while content is being blurred.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN
• Everything stays on your phone. Nothing from your screen is ever sent anywhere — not to us, not to anyone.
• No network calls for filtering. No telemetry. No analytics. No accounts.

A NOTE ON STREAMING SERVICES
Some paid streaming services refuse to allow any other app to read their content — this is a protection built into the device by the service itself. On those apps the veil simply cannot operate. Their videos are watchable inside any web browser instead, where the veil works normally.

HOW IT WORKS
On the home screen, tap "Start" and grant the screen-capture permission. Android will ask once, every session, before any reading of the screen is allowed. A persistent notification stays visible while the filter is active, so you always know it's working. Tap "Stop" any time.

DESIGNED FOR THE GAZE
This app is built around the Islamic principle of haya (modesty) — the practice of lowering one's gaze. Many users find it useful regardless of faith, as a focus tool or a parental aid. There is no preaching, no community features, no log-in, no advertising — just a quiet helper on your phone.
