User Reviews
Pros
- Clear grammar explanations and corrective feedback that explain mistakes and give tips.
- Adaptive, level-tailored lessons that adjust to your ability.
- Engaging, culturally rich content that includes drama-style material and cultural context.
- Generally effective at helping learners improve their French and considered strong relative to some other language apps.
Cons
- High price / subscription cost and perceived value may not meet expectations for many users.
- Very limited weekly lesson quota (one short lesson per day, weekdays only), which many users feel slows progress.
- Trial experience can be misleading about adaptivity and access to content before payment, making it hard to gauge usefulness during the trial period.
- Occasional reliability issues (e.g., audio glitches or features not working) as reported by a minority of users.

My favorite French learning app. Unfortunately I can only afford it a few months per year. I moved to France and am taking French courses in the school year, so I use this during the holidays when there are no courses. I really appreciate that you also learn bits of history and culture, and I think that the content is brilliantly written. It is satirical and fun, while also touching and educative. I am sure that Victor Hugo would have appreciated it, if he had lived to experience it.
