GrooveForge

GrooveForge is a small music app for MIDI keyboards and soundfonts. 🎹

Not a DAW, and not trying to compete with Ableton, FL Studio, or the great open-source tools. It started as a personal practice companion — a portable way to relearn scales after years away from a piano — and grew from there.

What's inside
🛠️ Plugin rack — stack synths, effects, and MIDI processors; save the whole setup.
➰ MIDI looper — multi-track overdub with bar-accurate quantization, reverse, and speed controls.
🎶 Jam Mode — lock the keyboard to a scale; out-of-scale notes snap to the nearest correct pitch. A practice aid, not a teacher.
🎙️ Vocoder — 32-band with PSOLA pitch locking and a noise gate.
🛸 Extras — Stylophone and a Theremin with optional camera-based hand tracking.
🎭 Swipe glissandos, vertical/horizontal pitch bend & vibrato. USB / Bluetooth MIDI supported.

Permissions 🛡️
Mic — vocoder only; audio is never stored or sent.
Camera — theremin CAM mode only; no images saved.

Open source (MIT), built solo with a lot of help from AI pair-programming (mainly Anthropic's Claude Code). No ads, no tracking, no accounts. Expect rough edges.
