Features & Capabilities

Graph Paper is a calm, private workout log laid out like an engineer's notebook. Soft blueprint navy ground, pale-blue grid lines, white pencil type, a bright red pencil line for the active trace, and a thin graphite-yellow for callouts. Every exercise is a chart card with a plotted line of past sets; every set is a point on the grid; every personal record is the apex of a curve, a small red dot marked with a tiny "pr" stamp. No glyphs, no fire, no plates flying. Just numbers, lines, and a quiet grid.

THE PAGE - the home screen
The home screen reads like a single open page of graph paper. At the very top, the lowercase date (e.g. "monday, 12 may") sits on the left, and a small bordered "+ new entry" link sits on the top-right corner - replacing every previous FAB, bottom-tab, and side-rail in this app. There is no FAB at the bottom and no rail on the side; the only place to start a new set is that top-right link. Beneath the corner row, the brand "Graph Paper" is stamped in big serif - the second word in red - with the italic tagline "an engineer's notebook for the iron".

The HERO is a real 14-day line chart drawn on the page: a faint y-axis grid, ruled y-tick labels (volume in the user's preferred unit), x-tick labels for the first, middle, and last day of the fortnight, and a red polyline connecting the daily totals, with small dots at each day and a bright red "today" tag floating above the latest dot. Beneath the chart, a row of three readouts - today's volume, today's sets, the day-run streak - separated by hairlines.

The TODAY'S PLOT section lists every exercise touched today as its own engineer's card. Each card carries a numbered index ("01."), a small accent dot the colour of the exercise's trace, the exercise name in heavy serif, a meta line ("3 sets ~ 1,250kg ~ chest"), then a small inline progress plot showing the last eight sets as a line graph, then a four-column table (n / weight / reps / e1RM) listing today's sets with a lowercase "pr" stamp on any record-setting row. A "+ another point" italic link at the bottom of the card adds another set.

THE REST OF THE CATALOG is a flat list - each row is a horizontal strip with the exercise's accent dot on the left, name in serif, category and muscle in mono, a tiny eight-point inline graph in the middle, and the best PR weight in big red serif on the right. A colophon at the very bottom records lifetime totals.

A FIXED BOTTOM BAR runs across the screen with two text-style buttons split by a thin divider: "01 the records" on the left, "02 the catalog" on the right. No icons, no glyphs - just numbers and small captioned labels.

THE EXERCISE detail
Tap any exercise to drop into its full record. Hero shows name and primary muscle. THE PR CARD shows the heaviest single set in big serif with estimated 1RM, total sets, and total volume below. A "plot a new point" button kicks off the quick-log modal. Every set ever logged is grouped by day, newest first, with index, weight times reps, estimated 1RM, and a small "pr" stamp where it set a record. Long-press a set to erase it from the page.

THE RECORDS
The records screen collects lifetime numbers - day run, total entries, total reps, total tonnage - in a clean grid. A "last fortnight" line chart runs underneath. THE PR ROLL lists every exercise with a record, sorted by estimated 1RM. RECENT SESSIONS lists your last 8 days as small cards with date, time, sets, exercises trained, and total volume.

THE CATALOG
The catalog is where you build out the rack. An "add a new lift" form lets you give a new exercise a name, a category (push, pull, legs, core, cardio, other), primary muscle, trace colour, default unit (kg or lb), and optional notes. The catalog below shows every exercise grouped by category, with arrows to reorder and a small x to remove. Preferences include the blueprint-dark palette, week-start day, haptic on save, and your preferred default unit. A dashed "wipe the page" action clears everything.
