Granum

Granum is a shotgun patterning companion for clay and field shooters. Photograph your pattern board after each session and Granum turns it into calibrated, comparable data - pellet counts, spread diameters, equipment records, and choke recommendations, all in one place.

PATTERN ANALYSIS

Draw two concentric circles on your photo to define the main spread and scatter zones. Calibrate to real-world measurements by tracing a reference line. Granum measures in millimetres or inches and stores every result against the gun, choke, and load you were using.

The image enhancement pipeline prepares photos before analysis - crop to the pattern area, adjust local contrast for faded or low-contrast cardboard, and tune detection sensitivity for your specific targets. A preview shows the result before you commit. Enhanced and original views are available side by side on the analysis canvas.

EQUIPMENT

Log every gun, choke, and ammunition load with full detail - serial numbers, barrel lengths, stock types, chamber sizes, choke materials and constriction values, powder charges, wad types, hull brands, primer types, lot numbers, and cost per box. Reloaded ammunition gets its own dedicated section. Attach multiple photos to any item.

CHOKE CALCULATOR

Enter a target distance and desired spread. Granum ranks every choke by predicted match quality using a ballistic model. Your own recorded data always takes priority over generic estimates - the more patterns you log, the more accurate the recommendations become.
