Features & Capabilities

Gpstrip is a specialized GPS odometer tailored for classic car rallies and off-road 4X4 competitions. It features dual distance measurement with total and partial counters controllable via intuitive sliding gestures. The app provides detailed information including speed, maximum and average speeds, altitude, heading, ascent/descent totals, and GPS coordinates in multiple formats (Decimal, DMS, UTM, MGRS).

User Reviews

Gpstrip is praised for its simplicity and readability, especially for rally and off-road use, with a configurable trip computer. However, several reviews flag UI/display issues on some devices and missing features like batch export and unit changes. Installation or device-compatibility problems also appear. Overall, it’s a solid, easy-to-use trip meter, but could benefit from feature enhancements and broader device support.
Pros
  • Easy to use and simple UI
  • Large, readable numerals / display for easy visibility
  • Configurable trip computer / odometer features (including option to use device compass instead of GPS)
  • Excellent for rally/off-road use
  • Reliable and useful in practice (does what it promises)
Cons
  • Font size / text display issues on some devices (fonts don’t fit or text too large)
  • Missing features: batch export of saved tracks and waypoints
  • Missing feature: ability to change distance units (km/m)
  • Download/install issues and device compatibility problems on some devices (e.g., Meizu Pro 6 Plus)

Excellent! I only miss a batch export of saved tracks and waypoints and maybe a subtotal for average speed sector.
