I know this is not a cloud app, but it would be nice if I could use it via my home VPN. When connected home via OpenVPN, the app is unable to reach the inverter (I can reach every local device but the inverter), because it is in a different local subnet: easily solved if I could manually enter the fixed IP of my device.

better than nothing? GoodWe implemented their data connections and transmissions in a weird way. plus there is no cyber security function: i.e. change default passwords "goodwe2010" or "admin/admin". Additionally some of the functions of this app aren't documented. If you have options for buying another inverter/pv make then I would recommend to do so.
