Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar

The Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar (SVP) is an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aimed at recognizing and celebrating schools that excel in sanitation, hygiene, and COVID-19 appropriate practices. Established in 2016-17, SVP incentivizes schools to maintain exemplary standards in Water, Sanitation, Handwashing with Soap, Operation and Maintenance, and Behavior Change Activities & Capacity Building.

The 2021-22 edition further emphasizes COVID-19 preparedness and response, integrating critical health measures into the existing framework. Using IT-enabled assessments, SVP evaluates WASH infrastructure and hygienic practices to inspire sustainable sanitation improvements across educational institutions.
