User Reviews

Users find Remote Ripple PRO to be a responsive and comprehensive VNC client with good compatibility and smooth zooming. However, multiple reviews criticize the awkward and intrusive mouse overlay, poor graphic refresh rate, and some UI design flaws including oversized buttons and poor aspect ratio handling. Though powerful, users want better touchscreen optimization, more feature support (like mouse pointer visibility on Mac), and fixes for keyboard issues and device-specific compatibility like Samsung DeX.
Pros
  • Responsive and speedy remote control with minimal lag.
  • Supports multiple connection profiles with saved passwords and quick access.
  • Zooming feature works well, especially on small screens, enhancing usability.
  • Offers comprehensive control features including dragging, double-clicking, keyboard input, and hides mouse tool for simpler clicks.
  • Compatible with TightVNC server and provides good compatibility.
  • Able to control remote devices effectively, including useful for monitoring security camera feeds and playing turn-based games.
Cons
  • Mouse implementation is awkward and sometimes intrusive, with an annoying overlay that can interfere with use.
  • Poor graphic refresh rate causing tearing and delay in screen updates.
  • Some interface elements are too large, misplaced or cover important parts of the screen making editing and use difficult.
  • Lack of certain settings and options like mouse pointer visibility (especially on Mac), support for specific URI parameters (like password), and better touchscreen usability.
  • Issues with aspect ratio support, with some screen edges being cut off, especially on widescreen displays.
  • Problems with keyboard input where function keys are masked or unusable on some devices.
  • Some versions or configurations do not support Samsung DeX or similar modes despite touchscreen support.
Recent reviews
Unfinished, poorly-designed interface. The mouse control is bad. Parts of it are too big, too small, misplaced, in the way, missing, ugly, etc. No real thought was put into touchscreen usability, which isn't hard to do. And overall, it feels more like a rushed experiment or ad than a serious viewer. Many useful settings are missing. Like most mobile VNC viewers, it sucks. And since it implies that it's as good as desktop TightVNC, it's an ever bigger letdown.

Amazing! I've used M$ Remote Desktop for years and that's always bee my go to for remote access. Recently, I had a need for remote access to Windows machines that display security camera feeds in public places and have no keyboard or mouse attached. I installed TightVNC server on one of the machines and Remote Ripple on my phone. In less than 5 minutes, I had full control of the desktop while still able to observe the attached monitor.
