The app worked well then it stopped completely I can't even pass the permission request dialog at start now Edit: the past problem was fixed in an update but the website or anything in social network issued an apologize for almost a month with a non functional app. And now there is another issue it just doesn't work not idea why the drives sounds weird the upload won't work and after awhile it shows in the drives menus there are 3 drives instead of 2.

App stopped working. Uninstalled and reinstalled. It keeps asking for permissions. The permissions are all approved but still won't upload. Even when it used to work videos from the phone, would all error out and not upload. I stopped buying Kick starter projects because of this product.

Downloaded this just to use Monument Cloud, without the hardware. The advertised features made it sound amazing, even better than Google Photos, but that is definitely not the actual experience at all. Barely anything works, there are issues with everything! Same exerience on multiple devices. Fresh uploads not showing up under Photos, but do show up under recents. Face detection worked ONCE on 4 photos and then never worked again. Automatic face grouping NEVER worked, not even once.

This thing cost over $100 and I've had it for 2 years and haven't been able to use it. It either won't connect to Bluetooth or can't use the wifi or it simply says setup cannot be completed without any explanation and with no information on there website. Still waiting to hear back from customer service. I'm pretty tech savvy so I could only imagine how difficult this would be for the average person.

Worked great until I moved to a new phone. Downloaded the app, got confirmation through email, connected on Bluetooth. Made sure I was on the same wifi network, spins around and around and never makes a connection. What is wrong with this software that is always a hit or miss???!! I'm connected on PC but cannot connect through phone app!

Awful, this device has no connectivity. It will link Bluetooth but not wifi. Spent $50 and 2 hours purchasing sd card and reader to update software. Spent 2 hours updating, and it still does not work. No tech support nothing. It is completely horrific. DO NOT PURCHASE DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Decent when it works. Monument 1 seemed less buggy than the current version. Some photos will display after initial upload but then will show just a black screen later when you go back to them. They will download successfully but won't display in the app (Pixel 6). I have also had 28 items show processing in the app for weeks but no luck with the support ticket I opened for it.

Everything seems to work fine. No crashes. Update 12/5/2019. Works better than ever. Constant software updates makes this device even better. I have saved so many memories to this device without even thinking about it. Software settings do it for you. Looking to buy one for my sister for Christmas. One of my favorite purchases ever!!! Update 4/06/22... Still going strong. They keep updating the software making it better all the time.

I bought Monument 2 as an upgrade to Monument 1, which had worked nicely, although it has had hiccups. I learnt that I needed to update the firmware to M1, which is a process that failed. I tried to undertake this update manually using a correctly formatted SD card & USB storage stick. It didn't work. Am waiting for Monument Support advice on how to proceed. And, the data on my HDs under M1 is now inaccessible.

It's a decent enough photo storage device, but a NAS would work just as well. The facial recognition algorithm lumps large quantities of different people together into one group and anything you do to any face in the group applies to every face in it. When associating faces with people you are only given the face where the ability to view the entire picture could give helpful context. Often faces that are clear get skipped while blurry ones get identified as faces. Support is unresponsive.
