LapisAI

LapisAI is a geology-focused field companion for investigating geological evidence, exploring mapped geology, recording observations, and developing geological reasoning.

Built for geologists, geoscience students, field professionals, researchers, and anyone curious about the geology around them.

INVESTIGATE GEOLOGICAL EVIDENCE

Photograph or upload geological evidence such as rocks, outcrops, cores, structures, maps, and field notes.

LapisAI separates observation from interpretation and provides evidence-aware geological reasoning, including confidence and limitations where appropriate.

QUICK SCAN

Use Quick Scan for a rapid first look at geological evidence. Free Quick Scans are available each week.

DEEP ANALYSIS

Use Deep Analysis for more detailed investigations, including multi-image reasoning, evidence comparison, follow-up refinement and structured geological interpretation.

Deep Analysis credits are available as one-time packs. No subscription is required.

EXPLORE NEARBY GEOLOGY

Use your current device location to retrieve mapped regional geological context.

Explore nearby formations, geological units, mapped ages, and supporting geological descriptions directly on the map.

Mapped geology provides regional context and should not be treated as proof of a photographed specimen's or outcrop's identity.

DIGITAL FIELDBOOK

Save geological investigations and observations in your Fieldbook so your evidence and interpretations remain organised and easy to revisit.

LEARN AND PRACTISE

Train your geological eye with daily geology challenges and additional practice questions.

Learning activities reinforce the same workflow used throughout LapisAI:

Observation → Interpretation → Verification

EVIDENCE-AWARE AI

Geological interpretation involves uncertainty. LapisAI is designed to communicate confidence, evidence limitations, and alternative possibilities rather than presenting uncertain interpretations as established fact.

LapisAI supports geological investigation and learning. It does not replace professional field verification, laboratory analysis, regulatory assessment, or qualified geological judgment.
