You cannot choose any of the character events without spendig gems, you can only get free gems every couple hours but also very few. For reference, any 'pro character' choices are like 30 gems, that costs you at least 7 euros in the shop, or you have to wait a whole day and watch videos every couple hours to get it. This is rediculous. And the story is not even that good.
