Features & Capabilities

Ultimate Stopwatch & Timer is a beautifully designed Stopwatch and Countdown app for Android phones, tablets and Wear OS watches. It includes ticking sound, countdown alarms, lap time recording and a persistent notification when the stopwatch runs (on compatible devices). To save battery the app doesn’t run continuously in the background — it simulates background timing using system events for efficient operation.

Designs by Marie Schweiz and contributions from Rich Hyndman (@geekyouup). The app is fully open source (github.com/geekyouup/ultimatestopwatch) and an older classic-style version is available for users who prefer the previous UI (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.geekyouup.android.oldtimer).

This app used to be very good. Now it resets the timer when you switch to another app and opens on the stopwatch, not the countdown. Unless this app is updated and changed back to the way it was, I have to look for an alternative.
