Aqua Map Boating delivers weekly-updated, official NOAA nautical charts for U.S. waters with offline downloads and full marine navigation tools. Record GPS tracks, plan routes (manual or auto), display tides and currents, set an Anchor Alarm, and share live data with the Aqua Map community. Points of interest from ActiveCaptain and Waterway Guide are integrated for richer local information.

Choose an Expert subscription to unlock marine forecasts (wind, waves, currents, SST, salinity), satellite overlays, advanced AnchorLink (email/Telegram notifications), NMEA instrument and AIS support, and Route Explorer. The Master subscription adds U.S. Army Corps of Engineers surveys and U.S. Coast Guard local notices. Aqua Map Boating is praised for its ease of use, excellent chart rendering, routing, and affordable chart options, making it a strong all-in-one tool for cruisers. However, users repeatedly report stability and device-specific crashes, troublesome billing and activation, gaps in chart detail and regional coverage compared with Navionics, and reliability problems when offline. Tablet performance can also be poor. Addressing stability, billing reliability, and data completeness would significantly improve user satisfaction.

Easy to use for planning and plotting

Flexible pricing with standalone charts and cheaper regional maps
All-in-one source of data for cruising and planning

Cons

Frequent crashes and general instability on Android devices, including tablets
Billing/subscription problems such as charges without activation and features not unlocking
Chart data quality and coverage lag behind Navionics in some regions (missing detail, missing tides, sparse contours)
Offline reliability issues: offline charts can disappear or be unavailable when offline
Performance issues on tablets (GPS signal drops, lag, occasional startup crashes)

paywall very dishonest apparently has apparently has attached itself to another app that claims to no longer be supported by Android newer updates. look at this one because it had to be logged into to use the old app now it's all paywalled.

The charts for the coast of BC have many fish icons for closed rockfish areas that cannot be removed. I don't fish. very irritating in my opinion. These are NOT hundreds of fish farms. The GEC registration can be difficult. I have not tested the app on the water yet.
