Cacher - Storage/Cache Cleaner

Cacher is a calm, honest storage cleaner for Android. It shows exactly what is taking up space - real files, real numbers - and lets you decide what goes. Nothing is deleted without your review.

WHAT CACHER FINDS
One "Scan" button finds everything at once, and the results are sorted by how safe deleting is: "Definitely junk" (the only section with "Select all"), "Worth a look" and "Your call".
• Large files and old screenshots, with size and age thresholds you set yourself
• Duplicate photos and videos, matched by comparing the files themselves rather than their names
• Similar photos - runs of nearly identical shots - and blank shots: a black frame from a pocket, a shot into a lamp
• App caches, listed app by app with the size of each
• The Downloads folder by kind - app installers, archives, documents, photos, video and audio - plus older backup copies and messenger media
• Empty folders, folders left behind by apps you uninstalled, APK installer files, and litter from other systems such as .DS_Store, thumbs.db and LOST.DIR

APP CACHE, HONESTLY
Android gives no app the power to clear another app's cache: the only way is the "Clear cache" button on the app's own settings screen. On some phones Cacher taps it for you; on others the system keeps that button out of reach, so Cacher opens each app's storage screen and steps aside: you tap it yourself, and Cacher moves on once the cache has really shrunk. The buttons stay uncovered on purpose, and only "Clear cache" is ever involved. Your app data is not touched.

WHAT CACHER NEVER DOES
• No advertising, anywhere in the app
• No accounts and no sign-in
• No network code of its own - nothing it finds leaves your phone
• No "speed boost", no RAM cleaning, no battery claims. Freeing storage is freeing storage, and that is all Cacher does
• Nothing is pre-selected for you, and anything that cannot be undone says so before it happens
• "Cleared" appears only when the size really dropped. When a tap changed nothing, the report says that instead

NON-MEDIA JUNK
Some junk is not media at all, so the media library never shows it: empty folders, leftovers of uninstalled apps, stale installers, files left by other operating systems. The same scan lists every item with its size and path, keeps nothing selected until you select it, and lets you mark anything as "Keep" so future scans skip it.

CACHER+
Finding and deleting all of that is free, in full; Cacher+ is for convenience, and for squeezing media.
• Squeeze media - videos re-encoded down to 1080p, photos with their dates and geotags kept. Seeing how much it would free is free; the squeezing itself is the paid part, on Android 11 and newer
• Automatic scans on a schedule, with quiet hours you set
• Smart rules - quiet reminders when screenshots pile up or a cache grows
• Storage history and analytics
• Home screen widget and Quick Settings tile
• App groups for cache cleaning
• Extra colour palettes and app icons

PERMISSIONS, AND WHY
• Usage access - the only way Android will tell an app how much space other apps occupy
• Accessibility service - used for one fixed sequence: open an app's settings, find "Storage and cache", find "Clear cache". It reads those settings screens only while a cleanup you started is running, stores nothing, sends nothing, and you can withdraw it in one tap
• All files access (Android 11 and newer) - folders and non-media junk are invisible to the media library, so nothing else can find them
• Photos and video - to measure the media library and find duplicates
• Notifications - only so a scheduled scan or a smart rule can report quietly. Nothing is deleted without you

Cacher works on Android 8.0 and newer. Where the platform does not allow something on your version, the feature is shown greyed out with the reason instead of quietly missing.
