Frontline: Western Front is praised for its solid turn-based strategy gameplay, good variety of units, balanced combat, and quality graphics, offering historical accuracy and educational content. However, users commonly struggle with small, hard-to-read unit icons and text, insufficient help or tutorials about game mechanics, control sensitivity issues, and problems with saving/loading progress. Additionally, the unlocking system feels repetitive and the game lacks significant updates. Overall, it is a decent game but usability and support improvements are needed.
I would really love to give this game 5 stars but I cannot get past the Sicily Scenario. Even when I play both sides and achieve victory for both, the game doesn't advance. I like the earlier editions of the game and if you like playing the same scenario over again, this game is fun. It's a straight forward turn based game. The animations are decent as are the maps and unit icons UI is simple but the hover effect can obscure parts of the screen with unsolicited information
