On Piste - Info Schi Romania

Launched in the 2017-2018 season is the first crowd source application for skiing. Developed on the basis of the experience and expertise of SkiPass Magazine, On Piste provides real-time information on piste status, snow quality, waiting time for cable installations, information provided by other users.

The application contains an interactive map and an alphabetical list of ski areas and slopes in Romania that have associated, from the display, a ski quality rating at that time, a rating based on an algorithm that sums the users' votes on multiple criteria .

Members of the ski and snowboard community can hierarchize, using simple and easy-to-read icons, criteria such as:

- the state of the snow and the surface of the slope (pulver, beaten, ice cream, water, ice, earth patches, hoppers, etc.)

- weather (sun, cloudy, fog, cold, hot, blizzard etc.) and road condition

- Waiting time for cable installations

The application also displays the map of each area as well as information on the number of slopes, their length and difficulty, the cabin facilities they serve, the prices of the ski passes, etc.

With the editorial support of SkiPass Magazine, the app provides skis and ski areas reviews (including videos) as well as links to relevant news. From this season, video cameras from almost all slopes in Romania have been integrated into the app. The weekly newsletter of SkiPass Magazine also gets a notification on the On Piste app.

Beginning with the 2018-2019 season, On Piste also proposes related services in the ski areas: hotels, restaurants, apres ski, ski schools, service centers for equipment and hiring centers.
