Review summary

Users broadly praise Acode as a VS Code–style, lightweight, fast mobile IDE with a free option, good plugin support, and regular updates. However, recurring issues cited by multiple reviews include intrusive ads that disrupt use and can cause crashes, stability and file-access problems such as not opening the app or failing to save files, and requests for broader language support (notably C# and C++). Overall it is viewed as a strong all-in-one coding environment for Android, but ad UX and reliability issues temper the experience.
Pros
  • VS Code-like mobile IDE with desktop-grade features
  • Lightweight, fast, and surprisingly powerful for Android coding
  • Free to use with ongoing updates and improvements
  • Good plugin support and extensibility
  • All-in-one IDE for mobile coding with broad language/workflow support
Cons
  • Intrusive ads that disrupt the UI, block the screen, and can cause crashes
  • Stability and file-access issues such as not opening the app or failing to save files
  • Lacks support for essential languages (notably C# and C++) and users want broader language/runtime options
  • Problems with saving paths and general file management

It was my all-time favorite Android editor until these past few recent updates. Copying code now takes more mental effort, but that's manageable. What really sucks is the new Nord theme. The old one was clean, simple, and easy to read. This update ruined it with too many colors competing for each other, making code much harder to read, all in the name of improvement. I regret updating. Please bring back the old Nord theme, or at least give us the option to use it.
