Every morning the app downloads a fresh bundle of today's fixtures, team statistics, head-to-head records, and market odds. The on-device prediction engine blends all three data sources to generate confidence-rated tips across every major market: match result, over/under goals, BTTS, double chance, correct score, HT/FT, and more.

For matches where stats aren't yet available**, our Cloudflare AI model generates predictions from team quality and league-level base rates — so you always have a tip to work with, and every prediction is clearly labelled with its source.

🤖 HOW THE AI WORKS

FooTips uses a Dixon-Coles corrected Poisson model** — the same statistical framework used by professional betting analysts — calibrated against real historical outcomes.

For each match the engine:
1. Pulls head-to-head history (decay-weighted for recency)
2. Reads team xG from shots on target, total shots, and big chances
3. Blends market odds (implied probabilities) at 35 % weight
4. Adjusts for league-specific home advantage (10 profiles: Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1, UCL, UEL, and more)
5. Applies Dixon-Coles low-score correction (ρ = −0.13)

The result: a full probability distribution across all scorelines, used to price every market with a calibrated confidence rating (30–92 %).

⚡ SMART FEATURES

Offline first — predictions are pre-loaded and cached. Open the app on the bus with no signal and your tips are already there.
Three-layer cache — in-memory → DataCacheManager → Room DB, so the app is fast and data-efficient.
AI source badges — every prediction shows whether it came from the Stats Engine (full data), AI Assisted (partial data), or AI Primary (AI-only). No hidden guesswork.
•Live accuracy tracker — the Accuracy screen shows real historical performance per market, so you can see which markets the engine is best at.
•Results auto-sync — a background worker polls for results during match hours and updates predictions with ✅ / ❌ outcomes.
