Quick Recipes - 15 fast meals up to 15 min. Filter by 5, 10, or 15 min.
🍳 Welcome to Quick Recipes
Quick Recipes is a lightweight recipe app for people with limited time. From the home screen, tap Browse Recipes to open a scrollable list of fifteen built-in dishes, each with a cook time of fifteen minutes or less. Quick Recipes focuses on simple navigation, readable text, and practical meal ideas you can check while standing in your kitchen.
⏱️ Fifteen Built-In Recipes (3–12 Minutes)
The Quick Recipes library ships with fifteen ready-to-use recipes stored on your device. Cook times range from three to twelve minutes — all within the fifteen-minute limit. Each card in the list shows the recipe name, food category, and preparation time. Categories include pasta, breakfast, salad, soup, lunch, dessert, seafood, snack, vegetarian, noodles, and Mexican-style dishes. Examples include garlic butter pasta, avocado toast, caprese salad, scrambled eggs, Greek yogurt bowl, quick quesadilla, tomato soup, tuna salad wrap, microwave mug cake, cucumber salad, spicy shrimp stir-fry, cheese toastie, smashed chickpea toast, spinach omelette, and instant ramen upgrade.
🔎 Filter by Cooking Time
Quick Recipes lets you narrow the list using four filter chips: All, 5 min, 10 min, and 15 min. Select a chip and the list updates immediately to show only matching recipes. The header displays the current count and active filter, for example Quick Recipes (8) - 5 min. This makes it easy to find a dish that fits the time you have right now — a few minutes for a snack or slightly longer for a fuller plate.
📋 Recipe Details With Ingredients and Steps
Tap any recipe card to open its detail page. Quick Recipes shows the recipe title, cook time in minutes, category, a full ingredients list, and numbered preparation steps written in plain English. After reading, tap Back to Recipes to return to the list and keep browsing. The detail screen also shows your current session statistics (see below). There are no sign-in screens and no extra steps between you and the recipe content.
📊 Session Statistics (Current Browse Only)
While you browse, Quick Recipes tracks two numbers for your active session: how many recipes you have opened and the combined cook time of those recipes in minutes. These stats appear on the recipe detail screen under Session Stats. A new session begins each time you tap Browse Recipes from the home screen. Statistics reflect only the current browsing session, not a long-term history. This helps you compare options during one visit to the app without storing complex user profiles.
💾 Offline Access and Local Storage
Quick Recipes does not require an internet connection. All fifteen recipes are saved in a local database on your phone. No network permission is needed, so you can open the app in your kitchen even without Wi-Fi or mobile data. Recipe content loads from local storage, which keeps browsing fast and reliable in any environment where connectivity is limited.
👁️ Readable Layout With Dark Text Overlays
Text readability matters when you are cooking. Quick Recipes places a dark semi-transparent overlay behind titles, filter chips, recipe cards, and detail sections so white text remains clear against gradient backgrounds. This design choice supports comfortable reading under different lighting conditions — bright daylight, evening kitchen light, or dimmer rooms. The home screen, recipe list, and detail pages share a consistent visual style throughout the app.
🏠 Three Simple Screens
Quick Recipes uses a clear three-screen structure:
• Home — app logo and Browse Recipes button • Recipe List — filter chips and scrollable recipe cards • Recipe Detail — ingredients, steps, session stats, and Back to Recipes
There are no hidden menus, no account pages, and no settings screens. The flow is intentionally minimal: open the app, browse recipes, read details, go back to the list. When you close the app and open it again, you return to the home screen and can tap Browse Recipes to start a new session.
