BridgeType: Chat Translator

BridgeType is a privacy-first translator keyboard for Android chat apps.

Write, translate, and insert messages into normal text fields in apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Instagram DMs, SMS, and other messengers. BridgeType uses standard Android keyboard and text-sharing features, so it does not hack, modify, scrape, or inspect other apps.

Type a message inside the BridgeType keyboard, choose source and target languages, preview the translation, and insert it into the active chat text field.

• Receive Mode
Paste or dictate incoming text, then translate it without reading the surrounding chat.

Translate while typing with daily limits for free users and unlimited access for Pro users.

• Selected Text Translator
Use Android text selection or share actions to send text explicitly to BridgeType for translation.

• Voice Translation
Tap the mic button to use Android speech recognition, then translate the recognized text.

• Language Tools
Use saved language pairs, per-language keyboard layouts, emoji, ready phrases, and offline language model management.

Privacy-first design:

BridgeType does not use AccessibilityService.
BridgeType does not read full chat screens.
BridgeType does not monitor the clipboard.
BridgeType does not store your messages.
BridgeType only processes text you type, paste, dictate, select, or explicitly share.

Translation uses ML Kit on-device translation after language models are downloaded. Internet access may be needed to download language packs.

Free features include Compose mode, Receive mode, selected text translation, basic voice translation, limited Live mode, one saved language pair, and one keyboard theme/color.

Pro features include unlimited Live mode, unlimited saved language pairs, all keyboard themes/colors, longer voice translation, advanced voice timing settings, and ready-to-use translated phrases.
