TrueHue: Paint Color Scanner

TrueHue is the honest paint colour scanner. Where other apps guess, TrueHue tells you when the lighting is lying — then verifies the colour with your phone's flash.

WHAT MAKES TRUEHUE DIFFERENT

• Refusal coaching: under warm bulbs, dim rooms or harsh shadows, TrueHue refuses to hand you a wrong answer. Move to better light, or use Verify with Flash to keep going.

• Patent-pending flash verification (Plus): your phone's torch becomes a known light source, so you get a steadier read even in a 2700K incandescent room. (US Provisional Application No. 64/055,724.)

Plus RAL, Trumatch, Toyo, DIC and HKS cross-reference for designers: 29,875 swatches in total, all stored on-device.

• Honest numbers, not false precision: every match shows its exact colour difference (ΔE) and Light Reflectance Value (LRV). Catalogue colours are sRGB-derived, so TrueHue always points you to a physical swatch before you buy — that is the honest part.

• Room measurement: capture a room wall by wall and get paint estimates with window and door cutouts, so you buy the right amount and waste less.

HONEST LIMITS

Screen colour is not paint colour. Every catalogue value is derived from sRGB data, so TrueHue is a way to narrow 19,900 options down to a handful — always confirm against a physical swatch or sample pot before you buy. Ambient light, camera hardware and screen calibration all shift what you see.
