GeoCheval

GeoCheval is the reference application for outdoor horse riding enthusiasts. It allows riders and leaders to prepare their ride as best as possible, and to leave with all the tools useful for it to run smoothly.

In addition to its 26,000 km of routes, GeoCheval offers a multitude of information to properly prepare your hike:

- The routes, accompanied by information which allows them to be described as best as possible, such as the length in km, the color of the markings, an illustrative photo, a brief description,

- Members, such as equestrian tourism centers, Cheval Etape receptions, or even French Riding Schools, with the link leading to their website,
- Points of interest and vigilance along the route, allowing you to imagine the highlights of the hike. They are accompanied by a description, photo, and link to Google street map, for an immersive view of them,

The quality of the information offered is the DNA of GeoCheval, which is not a participatory application. If a user can easily import routes into the application or create new ones, only they will be able to view them. However, a feature makes it easy to share an illustrated summary of your hike with one or more friends.

A filter tool makes it easy to find the circuit that best matches the riders/leaders’ projects. The tool therefore allows you to select a route based on its length, its accessibility to the teams, or its type (loop or linear). If a user becomes aware of a route via a means other than GeoCheval, they can import it into the application.

The application, designed by the FFE-CNTE, offers a Classic version, accessible to all, including all the main functionalities, such as consulting the itineraries proposed by the FFE-CNTE, recording an activity, and the “ My content” to find all past activities, illustrated and described by the user.

The Premium version, for its part, gives access to a multitude of additional features. It is accessible free of charge, with a license advantage, to all members and licensees. Among these features are:
- Access to the IGN TOP25 base map,
- Use of the application in offline mode,
- Consultation of additional itineraries,
- Notification of a loved one at the start of an outing,
- Recording points of interest,
- Export of routes in GPX,

The GeoCheval application comes from the GeoCheval.com interactive map, its routes are selected by local experts and are intended to be as well laid out as possible for the riders and leaders who will take them. The routes offered on GeoCheval are thus marked out, registered in the PDIPR, and created in conjunction with local authorities to ensure their maintenance and sustainability.
