Features & Capabilities

A new era for paleontological experience
roAR2024 is designed to transform your tour of the Cretaceous Park of Sucre, taking you on a journey that combines education, science and technology. You can explore a themed room where dinosaurs and other beings from the past come to life in 3D and 360°. Through your mobile device, you can access 10 interactive points within the park, which will connect you directly with the creatures that inhabited Bolivia millions of years ago.

7 Fossils that come to life (Horizontal View):
When you explore the fossils with your mobile device, you will see 3D, 360°, scale replicas of seven impressive prehistoric species. These digital replicas include:

1. Abelisaur
2. Ankylosaurus
3. Titanosaur
4. Pterosaur
5. Carnotaurine
6. Hadrosaur
7. Smilodont (the ferocious new prehistoric mammal included in the 2024 update)

Each of these species animates when you focus your device's camera on them, allowing you to see their movements and discover more about their behavior. The "Change Action" feature gives you the chance to explore their feeding habits, how they move, and more, providing an educational and immersive experience that connects paleontological science with modern technology.

2 Gigantographs that come to life (Vertical Display):
The update also includes two giant prints that will leave you speechless. When you scan with the app, you'll be able to see the mighty T-Rex and the terrifying Carnotaurine come to life in their life-size, roaring and moving right in front of you. These visualizations offer total immersion, making you feel the magnitude and ferocity of these creatures that once dominated the Earth. What would you do if you could be next to a giant from the past? Let your imagination fly.

1 Thematic Illustration (Vertical Display):
On the tour you will also find an artistic illustration designed to communicate the central concept of the room. By pointing the app, you'll see a digital dinosaur come to life on your device's screen, while other illustrated dinosaurs watch curiously. This image serves as a mirror for visitors, inviting them to become part of the experience as they discover how technology brings the past into the present.

An innovative collaboration to preserve paleontological heritage
The first version of the app, roAR2020, was developed by Neysa Rivadineira and Dino Garzoni of Summergō Lab in collaboration with special effects artist Fernando Lupo, and in 2024, the team has returned with an update that refines and expands on that initial vision. With this new version, accompanied by a curatorial design, the objective is to continue revitalizing the Paleontological Heritage of Bolivia, bringing science and natural history to people of all ages through an advanced technological experience.

The past has never been so close!
