The device is super hard to set up anyway. The app apparently does nothing when using a cell phone. kept wanting me to choose a camera. But clearly says he supports cell phones. works better. just using the Bluetooth connection with the phone. I see no advantage to the app with a cell phone. also note that I wasn't able to get it to work at all with my Sony a6000 camera. After a bunch of fiddling around, was best with my Google pixel, without using the app at all.
