- Display over other apps — to draw the panel on top of whatever app you're using
- Foreground service — to keep the edge-detection ready at all times
- Query installed apps — so you can pick any installed app for your panel
- Receive boot completed — so the panel is back after you restart your phone
- In-app billing — to process the optional one-time premium purchase through Google Play
- Ignore battery optimizations (optional) — so the system doesn't put the panel service to sleep; you can decline and EdgeWise still works
