User Reviews

Notepad is praised for its clean, ad-free, minimalist design and straightforward, offline note-taking. However, recurring issues with exporting/backing up, cross-device transfer, clipboard reliability, stability bugs, and data integrity reduce reliability for some users. Many requests focus on mass TXT/ZIP export, undo, folders/labels, and password protection. Overall, it remains favored for simplicity, but users want stronger data portability and stability.
Pros
  • Simple, bare-bones UI that makes taking notes quick and easy.
  • Ad-free experience with no bloated features or intrusive permissions.
  • Reliable basic note-taking experience (create, edit, save) without frills.
  • Good offline usability: works without needing an internet connection.
Cons
  • Lacks mass export/backup/transfer options; exporting all notes at once is difficult and cross-device transfer is hard; requests for TXT/ZIP export.
  • Clipboard and paste issues: copying/pasting is unreliable, with pasting from some apps failing or triggering unintended clipboard behavior.
  • Stability and reliability concerns: occasional crashes (e.g., during search), post-update issues, and UI bugs like printing or misnaming notes.
  • Data integrity concerns: notes can be saved with wrong names, appear empty, or be deleted unexpectedly.
  • Missing useful enhancements like undo, folders/labels, and password protection (organization and security features).

I always prefer simplicity over some useless advanced features. This one became my best app for my day to day work. I just hope it has some widgets so I can create a shortcut of my Important notes and not always have to open the app.
