Review summary

The Suicide? Help! Tayside app is praised for providing 24/7 reminders and quick access to emergency numbers, designed primarily for UK users. It is well structured and offers useful suicide prevention information. However, multiple reviews highlight issues such as outdated contact numbers and the app's limitation to UK and Ireland numbers, limiting its usefulness for international users. Some users desire more comprehensive coping strategies beyond phone numbers, indicating the app could benefit from added resources and updated information.
Pros
  • Provides 24/7 reminders that help is available
  • Includes emergency phone numbers for immediate assistance
  • Contains helpful information on suicide prevention and coping strategies
  • Designed specifically for Tayside and UK users but usable by others too
  • Well laid out and easy to navigate
Cons
  • Phone numbers are outdated (e.g., NHS 24 changed to 111)
  • Limited to UK and Ireland phone numbers, reducing usefulness for users outside these regions
  • Offers mainly contact numbers and little additional information or coping strategies
  • Some users find it insufficient as it only provides phone numbers without actionable advice

The app just gives you emergency numbers and lets you write stuff down... I was looking for information, for ideas of coping strategys. You assume I'm a pro at finding my will to live. This could be something very useful, but it needs a lot of work.

Great app with information to all. This is a prevention app. Developed in Angus for Tayside people but can also be used by anyone as the principles in the how to help section are the same. Choose life was Scotland's national suicide prevention strategy and this app is part of the local areas work to prevent suicide and reach people who do not interact with services.

NHS 24 has changed its phone number to 111. AMHA are no longer in existence as they merged with SAMH. Penumbra also have nova projects in Montrose & Forfar. Otherwise it's a decent app if you need quick access to phone numbers.
