Esoteric Journal v1.1 is an encrypted grimoire for practitioners who want their entire ritual history offline, local, and locked by a passcode. Built with OpenJDK 17 and SQLCipher, the app runs entirely on your Samsung or other Android device. During first launch you create a six-digit key; after that, every entity profile, spell, offering, observation, and cleanse session lives inside “journal_encrypted.db” and never touches the cloud unless you export it yourself.

Core foundations
• Passcode-first vault: the UI and database remain sealed until you enter the six-digit key. There are no accounts, telemetry, or push servers.
• Entities & characteristics: catalog deities, spirits, or custom archetypes with sigils, correspondences, tarot ties, planetary links, elements, usage notes, images, and auto-tracked update timestamps.
• Spellbook: record ingredients, spell signatures, completion states, media attachments, and links to entities or offerings. Materials lists support quantities and comments for repeatability.
• Offerings: track promised items, ritual state, timestamps, and connections to spells or observations. Sub-rows keep multi-item offerings organized.
• Observations: capture intuition, physical signs, structured items, and binary attachments with captured-at timestamps. Cross-link observations to entities or spells to see patterns.
• Cleanse sessions: plan rooms, objects, materials, and invited entities for a cleansing journey, with quantity tracking and start-time history.
• Dashboard tiles: Entities, Spells, Offerings, Observations, Cleanse, and Settings appear as Black Magic-themed cards so you can jump into any workflow instantly.

Safety & storage
• SQLCipher + keystore: PassphraseProvider derives a 256-bit key stored in Android’s hardware-backed keystore, keeping data encrypted at rest.
• Manual backups: Settings lets you export/import via the Storage Access Framework. Backups are wrapped with AES-GCM using the deterministic “TheJouranlistCompanion” password for offline archiving.
• Safety snapshots: before schema upgrades, Database Snapshot Manager copies the encrypted DB into app-private storage. A Settings card shows the latest snapshot and restores it if a migration fails.
• Reset safeguards: destructive cascades require your deletion password, enforcing the “never purge user data” policy.

A single purchase enables saving, editing, and media attachments. Before purchase you can explore the interface and verify device compatibility. After buying, the entitlement binds to your Google account and restores automatically when you reinstall.
