Drillnaut: Space Mining

Land on a distant planet, drill straight down and find out what is buried beneath the surface. Drillnaut is a 2D pixel-art mining game about one question: dig a little deeper, or head back while you still can?

Every trip is a small gamble. Your fuel drains as long as you are underground, your cargo bay fills up and the rock gets harder the deeper you go. Make it back to base, sell your haul, upgrade your rig and push further on the next dive.

HOW IT PLAYS
• Dig down, left and right. Thrust back up to the surface, or buy the ceiling drill and dig upward too.
• Collect iron, copper, silver, gold, titanium, platinum, iridium and exotic matter.
• Sell your cargo at the base. Fuel and repairs are bought automatically.
• Grow your rig in a skill tree: drill, mobility, hull and cargo branches for the vehicle, plus a station tree with a refinery, a hangar and support upgrades.
• Unlock four vehicles in the hangar and switch between them in the garage: the all-round Mole, the big-cargo Hauler, the fast Jet and the rock-chewing Borer.
• Harder layers need a stronger drill bit. Heat deep down needs better cooling.

A WORLD THAT GETS DARKER
• The surface is bright. Below it, only your headlamp lights the way.
• Five layers, from soft regolith to glowing magma rock more than 7,500 m down.
• Watch out for gas pockets that explode when drilled, loose rocks that fall when undercut, and rising heat.
• Each new game generates a new world. Up to 20 saved games are kept, so you can go back to an older world any time.

DIAMONDS AND THE CARGO DRONE
• Diamonds are found underground. Spend one to teleport home with your cargo when you get stranded.
• Unlock the cargo drone with diamonds: it flies your ore to the base and sells it while you keep digging.
• Spend spare diamonds on paint jobs for your vehicles.

MADE FOR PHONES
• Touch controls, with gamepad and keyboard also supported.
• Portrait and landscape.
• Plays offline. Progress saves automatically and is backed up to the cloud with Google Play Games, so it follows you to a new phone.
