Equaliza

Guide to stage EQ: what you hear, what Hertz to adjust, with what Q, and why.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Equaliza is the field guide for audio equalization: the same mental map you use on a digital mixing console, on your phone, on stage, in church, or at rehearsal.
What you hear, which Hertz to adjust, with what Q — and why.
No frequency is a universal rule. Acoustics, microphone, positioning, and the PA change the result. Every adjustment in this app is a starting point: apply a little, listen again in the mix, and compare with the bypass.

WHO IT'S FOR
PA engineers, church mixing console operators, sound passengers, musicians who equalize their own channel, and anyone starting to understand Hertz, gain, and Q.
WHAT YOU'LL FIND
• Fundamentals — sound, Hertz, gain, Q, filter types, seven regions of the spectrum (sub-bass to air), and common pitfalls.

• Source catalog — kick drum, snare drum, toms, cymbals, bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, piano, male and female vocals, choir, saxophone, trumpet, violin, percussion, organ, and synthesizer. Each entry includes suggested HPF, tracks, settings, and stage tips.

• Microphones — SM58, SM57, Beta 58A, SM7B, Beta 52A, e835, MD421, D6, C414, and others in common use. Illustrative curve, positioning, and link to the manufacturer's official page.

• Perceived problems — muddy, muffled, lack of presence, harshness, sibilance, little attack, undefined bass, hollow, nasal, feedback, shortness of breath, and boom. From symptom to region and action.

• Assistant — choose the source, what you are listening to, the microphone (optional), and the environment. The app returns frequency, gain, Q, the reason, and the order on the mixing console. On your phone, one step at a time.
• Pass-through — large interface for the stage: source → problem → adjustment, without searching in the middle of the service or soundcheck.

• Parametric spectrum — draws HPF, LPF, bell, shelf, and notch like on a digital mixing console (20 Hz–20 kHz). It doesn't "hear" the microphone: it illustrates the curve for you to decide.

• Measurements — import CSV/JSON of your own curves. The points are stored on this device.

• Favorites and presets — saved only on this phone, no account and no cloud.

• Search — find instrument, microphone, or problem in seconds.

WORK ORDER
1. Correct the obvious problem.

2. Adjust the tone.

3. Fit into the mix.

Avoid large boosts to compensate for a poorly positioned source. Tuning, drumhead, microphone distance, and the environment solve what the EQ shouldn't have to solve.

PRIVACY
No registration. Favorites, presets, and measurements are stored on this device. The app does not send your curves or your mix to the cloud.
WHAT THIS APP DOES NOT DO
It does not analyze the live signal, it is not an RTA/FFT, and it does not replace the ear or the acoustics of the room. It is a reference library and an explainable assistant for soundcheck.
Equalizes: small adjustment, listen again, fit into the mix.
