Six-Minute Walk Speed App

The app, through a six-minute walk test, records partial distances covered each minute, which then estimates critical walking speed. The estimated distance can be used to prescribe walking programs for middle-aged and older adults for whom walking is recommended. Furthermore, the report displays the total distance covered in the test in relation to the expected distance, i.e., as a percentage of the predicted distance, as well as the estimated maximum oxygen consumption (VO2max) as an index of cardiorespiratory fitness.
