Undisconnected - Walkie Talkie

Undisconnected is an offline walkie-talkie app that works without the internet, or any server in between. It keeps your group connected on a hiking trail without cell phone signal, while coordinating an event, riding together on a motorcycle or bicycle tour, or working across a large site.

Undisconnected uses the phone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to scan and connect to other devices running the app directly without internet. Connections are formed automatically when devices are in range. It works in half-duplex mode. Simply press and hold the Talk button to transmit your voice to connected devices in real time and release to receive audio from other devices.

Mesh Networking — Range That Grows With The Group
The mesh networking capability of the app allows even devices that are not in direct radio range to communicate with each other. All connected devices form a de-centralised network for the audio to travel through multiple devices and reach members of the group that are not directly connected. More devices add more paths for audio, making the network more resilient.

Realistic range expectations
Current tested range is approximately 125 metres in open line-of-sight conditions. Range will be reduced in built-up areas, indoors, or with obstacles between devices. Real life range experience will depend on the capabilities of the connected devices, and surrounding conditions.

- Workers and Teams: Coordinate across warehouses, construction sites, or any large workspace without infrastructure.

Privacy — Saves No Data
Undisconnected requires no accounts or sign-up. Audio goes directly between connected devices. Audio is not recorded or saved, and stays within the local connected group.

Optional Volume Key Push-to-Talk
Undisconnected includes an optional Accessibility Service that lets you use the device's volume keys as a PTT button to transmit audio. This feature is especially practical for motorcyclists, cyclists, hikers, and users with visual impairments who need hands-free operation.
This is a completely optional feature, and is used to detect volume key presses only. It cannot read screen content or monitor any other app. This permission can be disabled at any time from Android Accessibility Settings.

Early Release — Actively Developed
Undisconnected is in early release. While the core push-to-talk and mesh networking features are working and ready to use, additional features, performance improvements, and broader device compatibility testing are actively being worked on. Your feedback helps shape future builds and improve the performance.
