Excellent for looking up Chinese words and learning Mandarin.

This is by far the best available mandarin dictionary for learners. Not mobile dictionary, dictionary. Edit: I have tried the pro version. I paid 5 pounds for it

The UI is incredibly bad, especially the OCR. Its not a difficult UI to design, just have one line on live view and make the app OCR and define, but they've it so clunky and irritating to use.

If you want a Chinese dict for looking up Chinese words, you use any dict. For learning Chinese, you use this one. Easy, pleasant to use. Focussed on the words. Many resources to assist you in learning. Excellent well composed examples. Rhythmic decomposition of sample sentences, and the listing of the extended range of meanings for the syllables in words and much more. Haven't seen another such app so dedicated to making sure you have all the resources needed for learning the Chinese language.
