Dotnote: Notes, Audio & Video

Dotnote is a note-taking app with real pages for your pen. Handwrite notes, mark up PDFs and slides, and put audio notes, video notes and photos exactly where they belong on the page. Made for students, lectures and anyone who thinks with a pen.

Audio and video notes on the page
• Tap a spot and record audio right there. Keep writing while it records; each recording plays from its place on the page.
• Place videos, photos, GIFs and files anywhere on a page, then move and resize them.
• Free plan: one recording and one video per note. Unlimited with Pro.

Write by hand
• Twelve pressure-sensitive pens: ballpoint, gel pen, rollerball, fibre tip, fineliner, fountain pen, calligraphy, brush, marker, pencil, crayon and neon (calligraphy, brush, crayon and neon with Pro).
• Highlighters that stay under your writing, with a chisel or round tip.
• Erase by stroke or by area, or with your stylus's side button.
• Only the pen draws: fingers scroll and zoom while the pen writes.
• Lasso ink to move, resize, rotate, recolour or duplicate it. Change the colour or the style of what you wrote.
• Hold at the end of a stroke to snap it into a clean shape, or pick one from the shape library: arrows, callouts, flowcharts, math and charts.
• Washi tape, a fading laser pointer, a canvas lock and a toolbar you arrange yourself.

Real pages
• A4 pages, 16:9 slide pages or your own page size.
• Plain, lined, grid and dotted paper, planners and a class timetable with attendance.
• Templates: Cornell notes, lecture notes, lab report, vocabulary, exam prep, mind map, meeting notes, to-do list, weekly planner, habit tracker and budget.
• Page thumbnails to jump, add, reorder, duplicate and bookmark pages. Covers, reading mode and full screen.

Bring your documents
• Import a PDF as pages you can write on, or as text you can keep editing.
• Bring in Word, PowerPoint and Excel files; slides become 16:9 pages.
• Scan paper with the camera: edges and rotation are fixed for you, many pages in one go.
• Text in your photos becomes searchable, recognised on the device.
• Open or share files from other apps straight into a note.

Organise and find
• Folders and notes in your own colours, favourites and quick notes.
• Search titles, lines, list items and the text in photos, and jump straight to the match.
• Calendar and reminders, even for an area you circle on a page.
• Two notes side by side in split view.
• A study timer with countdown and stopwatch.
• Lock notes and folders with a PIN or biometrics. Trash and version history.

Share and export
• PDF, Word (DOCX), Markdown, plain text and JSON Canvas, or print.
• Dotnote Book: a whole note as one file that opens in any web browser, videos included.
• Send notes and folders to a nearby device over the same Wi-Fi.

Your notes on all your devices (Pro)
• Your notes sync between your phone and tablet through your own Google Drive.
• Every folder and note shows on every device; a note's content downloads when you open it, so a small phone never fills up.
• You choose how much space Dotnote may use on each device, from 2 GB to no limit.

• Sign in with Google to start. After that Dotnote works offline and your notes stay on your device or in your own Drive.
• No ads.
