Fake/Proof

Fake/Proof is a Chrome extension designed to enhance the verification of video and audio recordings, ensuring they remain authentic and proof against manipulation such as DeepFakes or tampering. It uses advanced techniques including cryptographic signing of audio and video streams, syncing timestamps with a dedicated server, and embedding phone sensor data for enhanced security.

Additionally, Fake/Proof supports simultaneous multi-camera recording to a single file, enabling near-360 degree recordings on compatible phones. The developers maintain a bounty program to encourage further advancements and also provide open-source tools for extracting sensor data. Currently, the app is in maintenance mode, with a new lightweight web app available for continued use.
