ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE
Protec-U offers an optional Accessibility Service feature that users may enable through their device settings. This feature is used solely to detect an optional volume-button Emergency Alert shortcut, launch Protec-U, and help users trigger an Emergency Alert more quickly when needed.
Accessibility Service is not used to collect, read, store, monitor, or transmit personal information. Accessibility Service is used only to detect the optional volume-button Emergency Alert shortcut and launch Protec-U.
When the optional Accessibility Service shortcut is used to trigger an Emergency Alert, Protec-U uses and shares personal information already provided within the app, including the user's registered mobile number, name, address, city, live location, device battery status, alert time, alert status, nearby emergency assistance information, ambient audio recordings, travel path, and other alert-related information. This information is shared with designated emergency contacts to help them respond during an emergency.
The Accessibility Service:
• Does not read screen content
• Does not collect passwords or text entered by users
• Does not monitor activity in other apps
• Does not record phone calls or remote call audio
• Does not change device settings
• Does not perform actions unrelated to the Emergency Alert shortcut
• Is used only to detect the optional volume-button Emergency Alert shortcut and launch Protec-U
The Accessibility Service can be enabled or disabled at any time through Android Accessibility Settings.
PERMISSIONS
Protec-U may require permissions such as Location, Microphone, Accessibility, Notifications, Contacts, and Phone-related permissions to support emergency and safety-related features.
Location data may be collected and shared with designated emergency contacts during an active Emergency Alert to provide live location updates.
Audio recording may be used during an active Emergency Alert to capture and share audio with designated emergency contacts.
EMERGENCY ALERT INFORMATION
When an Emergency Alert is active, designated emergency contacts receive information including live location, device battery status, alert status, nearby emergency assistance information, and ambient audio recordings to help them respond during an emergency.
When an Emergency Alert is activated, Protec-U may also share information already provided within the app, including the user's registered mobile number, name, address, city, travel path, and other alert-related information with designated emergency contacts to help them respond during an emergency.
After an Emergency Alert ends, designated emergency contacts may continue to access alert-related information, including the user's name, address, city, travel path, device battery status, alert information, and ambient audio recordings for the applicable retention period.
Accessibility Service is used only for the optional Emergency Alert shortcut feature and is not used to read screen content, monitor other apps, capture text entered by users, collect passwords, record phone calls, record remote call audio, change device settings, or perform actions unrelated to Emergency Alerts.
