Smart Tip

Smart Tip is a tip and bill split calculator built around one clear flow: enter a bill amount, choose a tip percentage, set the number of people, and view the calculated totals.

The app uses three screens: a welcome screen, a calculator screen, and a receipt summary screen. Each screen focuses on bill amount, tip amount, total amount, per person amount, and number of people.

🧮 MAIN FUNCTION

Smart Tip calculates a tip amount from the bill amount and selected tip percentage.

It also calculates the total amount by adding the bill and tip together.

When the number of people is entered, Smart Tip shows the amount per person for an equal split.

The main calculation uses three fields:

• Bill amount
• Tip percentage
• People

After the values ​​are entered, tap Calculate to refresh the result panel.

Amounts are shown in dollar format with two decimal places.

📱 SCREEN FLOW

Smart Tip uses three main screens.

The welcome screen includes the app logo and an Open calculator button.

The calculator screen includes the input fields, Calculate button, result panel, and View summary button.

The Receipt Summary screen shows the latest available calculation in a receipt-style layout.

Tap New calculation from the summary screen to return to the calculator.

✏️ INPUT FIELDS

Bill amount is the starting amount before the tip is added.

Tip percentage is the percentage used to calculate the tip. It starts at 18%.

People is the number used for the equal split. It starts at 2.

You can change any value and tap Calculate again to update the displayed amounts.

When Calculate is used, the keyboard closes and the result panel remains visible.

📊 RESULT PANEL

After a calculation, Smart Tip shows three key values ​​in the result panel:

• Typ
• Total
• Per person

Tip shows the calculated tip amount.

Total shows the bill amount plus the tip amount.

Per person shows the equal share based on the selected number of people.

Before the first calculation, the result panel shows zero values.

🧾 RECEIPT SUMMARY

The View summary button opens the Receipt Summary screen after a successful calculation.

The summary screen shows:

• Bill amount
• Tip amount
• Total amount
• Amount per person
• Number of people

If no calculation is available yet, Smart Tip shows that no calculation is ready and displays empty values.

The summary screen reflects the most recent successful calculation from the calculator screen.

✅ INPUT CHECKS

Smart Tip checks the entered values ​​before showing a calculation.

Bill amount must be greater than zero.

Tip percentage cannot be negative.

People must be at least 1.

If a value cannot be used, the app highlights the related field and shows a short message.

When the field is edited, the previous error message clears automatically.

🎨 VISUAL STYLE

Smart Tip uses a clean mobile layout with soft backgrounds, gradient action buttons, and receipt-style panels.

The result values ​​use accent colors such as teal and coral so the main amounts stand apart from the rest of the text.

Labels, input fields, buttons, and totals are spaced for phone screens.

The calculator screen can scroll on smaller devices when extra room is needed.

📌 CLEAR FEATURE SCOPE

Smart Tip focuses only on tip calculation and equal bill splitting.

It does not include accounts, saved history, payment processing, online sync, rewards, location services, restaurant search, or extra planning tools.

The app works with the values ​​entered on the screen and shows the latest calculated result.

Smart Tip keeps the flow direct: enter bill amount, tip percentage, and people count, tap Calculate, review the result, open Receipt Summary when needed, and start a calculation from the summary screen.
