User reviews
Users appreciate The Sims™ FreePlay for its detailed customization, engaging gameplay, and mobile convenience. However, many are frustrated by the restrictive quests, excessively long task times, frequent bugs, and a heavy emphasis on in-app purchases. Customization feels limited compared to other Sims games, and the game's structure reduces the sense of freedom users expect, impacting overall enjoyment.
Pros
- Detailed customization and graphics with attention to detail.
- Engaging and fun gameplay that can be nostalgic and inspiring.
- Ability to carry the Sims experience on a mobile device with some creative freedom.
- Fair mechanisms for earning in-game currency and easy leveling up compared to past versions.
- Optional ads for rewards that do not disrupt gameplay.
Cons
- Excessive quest requirements and back-to-back timed events that restrict free play and cause stress.
- Long task durations (several hours to a full day) hinder continuous play and reduce engagement.
- Game often pushes in-app purchases, especially for progressing or completing events, making it feel pay-to-win.
- Frequent bugs and technical issues, including app crashes, progress reset, and quest completion glitches.
- Limited variety in customization options like hairstyles, body types, and clothing compared to other Sims versions.

The quests have ruined the game. All I'm doing is things like "wake kewl up for 7 hours" because I can't do the things I want, like having a toddler, unless I finish quests. Why should I finish a quest for a basic flow of the game!? And I don't have LPs left, so I'm stuck and can't even level up. The point of the game was living a chill fantasy life, and now it's just another money drag. If you wanna monetize, make "extra" quests buyable, not disrupt the basics!

This is ridiculous I've been playing this game since it was released. Started playing on a tablet and still playing. I've spent so much money because I love it. The most update has made the game unusable. The first time it loaded up it was a lagging mess. Now it's been over a week and the app won't even start. It will go to the loading screen then shut down. My phone says there is a bug in. Nothing I do fixes it.
